1.) Choose an inspector with more hours of education than most.
Transcript provided by InterNACHI, the home inspector
2.) Choose an inspector that owned a handyman business for over 15 years.
This allows the inspector to do more than most inspectors. Upon request I can estimate repairs of inspection items; give choices of how to repair the issues found during the inspection, give advice on how you can do some repairs yourself, and refer you to a handyman or other professional that can get the work done on your home if you wish.
3.) Choose an inspector that has been doing home inspections for over 14 years.
An inspector that has been doing home inspections for over 14 years. You will usually save more money than you pay me for the home inspection because I will find the items that need to be fixed in your home. This gives you an opportunity to ask for these items to be fixed. Beware of shopping around for the cheapest home inspector! You get what you pay for. I have been told that my prices are very competitive but I am not the cheapest. When you are spending money on a home you don’t want cheap. You want the right inspection done right the first time.
